Blurb:

When you've lived the reckless rock and roll lifestyle Rick Fars has it's no surprise to learn he's been there, done that, and in Rick's case he's most likely left his T-shirt behind on some woman's bedroom floor. As a wealthy playboy bachelor Rick's never been taken by any woman, but he's taken plenty and often.
Outwardly, Rick is living the dream; however, appearances can be deceptive, and behind closed doors Rick's life is far more complex than most would realize. When the past and the present collide, will Rick's future finally help him to know his own mind?

My Thoughts:

I could see Rick fitting in with the rockstars of the sixties and seventies. At times I felt like he delighted in letting us know about his exploitations. One thing that made it easy to picture what he was up to was having Mr. Hill as our narrator. It was very easy to picture him as a rocker enjoying what comes being in the industry.

Our author had me wondering if she has a wild imagination when it came to Rick's profession or if she did a lot of research. It was interesting to see that she's written a few book and this was the first time I had heard of her. One thing I liked about Rick's character was that he is one that will use his fame to help others. Something I missed was getting a chance to hear some of his music. That's something we miss when listening to a book as opposed to reading it. Sometimes an author creates a playlist that can be found either at the beginning or ending of a book. This may be one of those cases where I need to have a printed copy of the book.

On the negative about the book I felt it was more about his exploits than anything else. At least that's how the beginning was. I felt it got better as the book went on which was good because I had a few eye rolls. Having Mr. Hill reading to us may make you feel like a voyeur. Although, Rick may have enjoyed that. It's not a straight M/F read so you have to keep your mind open to any possibilities. The language is blunt and it's more in your face when listening to the book instead of you doing the reading. By the end I was looking forward to checking out more of our author's work but sadly this is the only audiobook - so far. It also left me looking forward to checking out more of Mr. Hill's work. And if I want something to heat my blood, I can see myself listening to this audiobook again.
