Blurb:

Kissing a complete stranger shouldn’t be a life altering experience, but with him it was. One look into his mischievous hazel eyes and our lips were colliding without a second thought.

Now, months later, not only do I know his name, we’ve also become friends. Good friends. The kind of friends that kiss and cuddle together, all night long. The kind of friends that fantasize about being horizontal or vertical...and very much naked.

I’d never been attracted to the football playing jocks, but Nick’s different. When he’s not being a professional flirt, he’s undeniably sweet and funny. For every excuse my mind comes up with to keep my distance, my body finds two reasons to give him a chance.

Can he make the final drive into my heart or will I keep him
in the friend zone?

My Thoughts:

Carter Murphy is trying to let her wild side out.  Nick “Carter” O’Shea is not a man to turn down a challenge.  Our characters may not like it but I thoroughly enjoyed their back and forth banter.  They seem to be very at ease with each other.  If I had to compare Nick to an animal it probably would be a fox – one word, sly.

The author was smart in telling this story in the first person.  The reader gets a better sense as to what the characters are thinking and feeling.  He’s also a good representation of a male version of a romance writer.  He shows that women don’t have the corner on that market.  And, that men can do it without having sex in every scene.  But he has a sense of humor when it comes to innuendoes and double entendres.  The pages may go by quickly but Mr. Chance allows Nick the time to woo Carter.  She needs the time but she gets plenty of surprises along the way.

Even though this book doesn’t state that it’s a part of a series, we have secondary characters that have their own story – such as in the book Punched.  It would be worth checking out if you want to know more about Noah and Reagan.  Even though I got to see some of this couple while getting to know our main characters, I found that our author left me wanting to know more so I went and added the book to my library.  There’s also another secondary character that has a book but I’ll let you investigate that one for yourself.  But don’t worry because you can read Drive without having read the other books.  This way you can build the anticipation of getting to know more about the secondary characters that Mr. Chance has created.  All I’ll say about the ending is that I’m going to have to go out and buy a t-shirt.
