Synopsis:

Two broken hearts embarked on a holiday season in a way they never had before. Divorced.Mitch had been badly burned by love, but was willing to take a chance . . . with the right woman.

Hannah had lived everyday with the grief love had brought her and followed her everywhere.

Can two hearts find love and heal each other during the most difficult season of the year?

My Thoughts:

Mitchell “Mitch” Turner has a jaded look on life due to his own circumstances.  It was nice to see a man willing to take a leap and try to see if he can have a second chance at love.  Hannah Stone is a woman starting over.  She’s a woman willing to get out of her comfort zone in order to realize some dreams.  We all need to be willing to take a chance and try not to over think anything.  We may lose out on the best things if we do that and wouldn’t that be sad.  Plus in later years we might play the “what if” game.

In all, this was a very romantic second chance at love story.  It’s short and sweet and the scenes are to the point.  Because this a short story, the author has only so many pages to tell her story and have the readers fall in love with her characters.  She’s done that job very well.  Even though this has a holiday theme, I think you would have no trouble reading it any time of the year and probably more than once as well.  It’s a story that is well worth the money and luck for you it’s a steal at only ninety nine cents.

Daniel Digby is cursed by his good looks. After years of sexual harassment, he’s convinced wearing a wedding ring is the answer to fending off unwanted attention.
CiCi Newport is cursed by her family’s money. When men look her way, all they see are dollar signs. After two years, her “no dating” rule is still in place.
After a chance meeting, they’re entwined for the holidays. What starts as attraction might just be the holiday cure they’re looking for.

My Thoughts:

Cici Newport has a jaded view of men.  Daniel Digby has a jaded view of women.  I love how the author shows how small our world is when we seem to find “the one”.  But it’s not always an easy road to the proverbial happy ending.  This was slightly different from Not the Same Season in that there’s a little suspense as you wait for the shoe to drop.  But your enjoyment will be the same.  It’s a story that will be over before you know it and if you’re short on time what could be more perfect.  Both books are a great tease to see what else this author has to offer.  If you’re not into Christmas, don’t let that stop you from enjoying this novella.  And it’s also a steal at only ninety nine cents.

After years of writing off and on, she decided to make a go of it. In December of 2010 she finally made her dream come true with her first published novel, Lies Inside. Five years and thousands of written words later, Lindsey is releasing her seventh published work, Nerdy Girl Nation.

When Lindsey takes a break from writing, she spends time with her husband of thirteen years and their two children, reading all kinds of romance novels, and hosting her own weekly radio show, Gray Matters, on TMV Cafe Internet Radio.
