My Thoughts:

The male main character in this story, Mason, is in college and sports is his major.  At times I felt that sports was just a way to get to the ladies.  He loved the notoriety and the women that came along with it.  It surprised me how quickly his demeanor changed once he Brecklynn, a freshman – probably because I didn’t feel any type of connection between them.  As I read this story it became obvious that in order to truly know Mason you need to start this series from the beginning.  I had trouble with all the ups and downs, which made it hard to follow.

This was a story where I felt more connection coming from the secondary characters.  They also left me wanting to know more about their story.  Brecklynn gives me an impression of a mother who smothers with good intention.  But when I meet her I don’t get that impression.  Just because I didn’t connect with this story doesn’t mean I’m ready to give up on this author or this series.  Until I read Playing Fate and Kismet there’s always a chance where I will change my mind.
