My Thoughts:
Abby doesn’t seem ready to move on with her life or is it just letting go of the past. Something gets revealed that tilts her world. She seems something of a dreamer. Aiden can’t seem to leave business alone until… - if you want to know then you have to read this book. He seems like a realist. I love all the funny moments that the author gives us. If you have family then it might have you reminiscing about all the fun times you may have had. All the family vacations where you always had time to do stuff together that you didn’t have when your parents had to work. This story seems like a summer crush with more of an adult theme. As I’m reading the story, I can picture being in that small town and getting to know the people that live in it. Going down to the beach with my chair and a good book or maybe an audio version. Can almost feel the breeze blowing at my hat and smell the ocean as it brings back memories of the past. There’s just something about being in a quaint historic feeling town. What I love about this author is how easy it is to get connected to her stories. Maybe it’s because of the location, of spending my childhood on the Cape, or maybe it’s how relatable her characters are. Then when food is brought up, seafood at the beach was always the best – can almost smell the clams and the lobsters cooking. There’s just something about her writing that makes it so easy to get lost in her stories that you just want that feeling to continue. They just seem to speak to that part of you that believes somehow men and women will find their other half. The road may not be easy. There may be a few bumps here and there. But once it’s right, it’s right. Our author doesn’t rush her characters into anything. That builds the anticipation to see what they have to go through to get that perfect for them happy ending. I love reading the Notes and Acknowledgements from the author. This gives me a little glimpse into her writing process and maybe even her inspiration. Plus, I may find a connected book that I haven’t read yet.
