They warned me not to take this
job.
They said you were ruthless,
impossible to please…
I said I was better than them.
I wouldn’t fall for your charm,
your arrogance, or how sexy you fill out that suit.
I wouldn’t fall for your deep brown
eyes or the way that muscle moves in your square jaw when you’re pissed.

I said I could resist you.
I was wrong...

(BOSS OF ME is a STAND-ALONE workplace, military romance with a badass alpha boss and the feisty woman who steals and heals his heart. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

My Thoughts:

Raquel “Rocky” Morgan is starting a new chapter in her life. But she hasn’t counted on her boss. Patton Fletcher is a man of honor, works with friends, but he has something against having an outsider join his team. He’s also a man of many talents and may even surprise some people.

This story flowed very nicely. Nothing seemed slow and not making sense. That includes our author’s choice for one of Raquel’s coworkers. The one thing that I couldn’t agree with is that the author says it’s an enemies to lovers. The enemies seems more one sided and part of that may be because of the advice that was given to one of them. But maybe it’s more a frustration of “will we” or “won’t we”. There’s actually a second thing I couldn’t agree with and that’s the military romance. Since these men are no longer in the armed forces how can that be unless you think of it as once a soldier always a soldier. So when you think of it like that than the genre would fit with this book.

With the nights getting cooler in my neck of the woods, having a hot and steamy read is a great way to stay warm. There were times where I kept wanting to tell them to “get on with it already” but if they listened to me than the story would have been over and that’s not what I wanted. The author made me happy though with what came after the ending. There’s an audiobook version coming out and I can’t wait to see who her narrator(s) will be.
