My Thoughts:
This story is listed as a lunchtime read but for me it’s more of a bedtime read. If you read it at lunch, how do you expect to get any work done when you return to your workspace? People might ask why you look so flushed.
If you’ve read this series, than you’ve met Lucca Russo before. I know this is listed as a standalone but if you don’t want this to be your first introduction to him than you must read Daddy Me first. You have to feel sorry for him because he seems to be watching life go by instead of being a part of it.
Breezy is a woman who does what she has to in order to survive. When you think of what she’s had to endure than in a way you also have to feel sorry for her. But she doesn’t let what she has to do define her as a person.
This story may be pure fantasy but I can see our characters being somewhere out in the world. A past is exposed and sh*t busts wide open. Once again this team surprises me with the ease in which they seem to create a story. This one seems to touch the heart more so than the previous stories. You will have no trouble feeling the emotions – shock, hurt, anger, need, stress, anxiousness, hope, love and the much needed happiness.
I knew right from the start that the ending was going to come. I just didn’t realize how quickly that was going to be. What pleased me greatly was that I actually guessed correctly when it came to which character’s story is coming next. But a frown appears when there’s no hint for when I’ll be able to read it. That just means that maybe I’ll finally get the chance to work on the booklists that the authors include for us.
