Blurb:

“We play by my rules now.” —Kit, the new boss
Who does Kit Walker think he is? The trust-fund heir waltzes in and wants to boss me around, but if I catch him misbehaving, his father will yank his inheritance. Stalemate, right? Not when our chemistry is irresistible! Ironically, we run the top dating app. Could this be my “perfect match”…or the perfect scandal? —Alexandra, the one in charge

My Thoughts:

Alexandra Croft has a tough job but having a friend there for her helps. Kit Walker has a here you go moment. He has a job due to nepotism. It doesn’t take me long to feel sorry for Alexandra. She’s had to work hard to get where she is.

I don’t know if the author made it intentional or not but I thought Kit was a real jerk when we’re first introduced. He reminded me of those that don’t realize how lucky they are. There was also an impression that he felt like he was god’s gift. I know that Alexandra didn’t like how she was feeling and I could certainly see that. Kit was not my favorite character. He reminded me of men back in the day that felt they were entitled - especially those that had too much in the good looks department and too much time on their hands.

An author that can get such a reaction from me, in regards to a main character, must have done a good job. That includes thinking that the female lead could do better – especially when I kept thinking “what about Ben?” It was interesting to watch how the author went about answering that question. But there was a scene where the three are together and it just felt predictable – same for the scene that followed. Part of the page-turner moments, for me, was looking to see if the bad boy would redeem himself both in our eyes and in Alexandra’s. Finding a romantic ending – he seems to have succeeded.

Katy Evans is the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of over a dozen novels, starting with her blockbuster debut romance, Real. She writes sexy contemporary romances with smoldering hot alpha males.

Shep Bennett would do anything for his daughter… even fall in love!
Shep Bennett’s as smooth as they come…except when it comes to his new daughter. Paige Harper has the magic touch with the traumatized toddler, so she strikes a bargain. She’ll care for Rosie, if Shep will let her run the inn he bought out from under her family. But will Paige be able to keep her heart out of the deal?

My Thoughts:

Paige Harper will have you laughing right from the start. Shepherd “Shep” Bennett is a man who will do whatever it takes to get his way. Our third character is the one that you’ll look forward getting to know every chance you get. She doesn’t always say anything but her actions will tug at your heart.

We have a single man finding his way around a world that changed in an instant. He now has a child to be responsible for. It was interesting to watch how he would adjust things to make his daughter’s life as simple as possible. But there were challenges that the author has put in his way.

Paige has her own set of challenges. It was interesting to watch how she met them. Loved watching her fall in love with a little girl and in turn the man in her life. What’s good about this story, even though it’s part of a series it can stand on its own. There are a couple of people that have a connection with our main characters so at the very least you may want to check out Coming Home To Crimson. If like me, you haven’t read any of the previous books this is a great introduction.

This was a sweet tale that made me want to find Crimson and get to know the people better. Since that’s not possible, I can certainly get to know them through our author’s eyes. They seem to live in a community where the people seem to care for each other.
