The men never back down to danger, but always fall hard for love in the Cover Six Security series by USA Today Bestselling Author Lisa B. Kamps.

Daryl "Zeus" Anderson walks the edge of danger. Strong. Dependable. Always in control--except for that one night in a tropical paradise that still haunts him. When an old friend calls in a favor, Daryl answers the call, never expecting to come face-to-face with the woman who damn near shattered his restraint--and his heart.

Kelsey Davis has been running for the last five years: for her safety, for her sanity, for more than just her life. The dangerous game she's been thrust into is nearing an end and she's forced to turn to the man her father swears will guard her with his life--the same man she's already run away from once.

The clock is ticking and Kelsey needs to decide if she can trust her new guardian with more than her heart. Because in this game, there's more at stake than love--and making the wrong decision could cost much more than just their lives.

My Thoughts:

Daryl “Zeus” Anderson has decided to take a chance. Kelsey Davis has made him curious as to what her story is. That in turn will make you curious as to what this author has in store for her characters. I liked that the other members of Daryl’s team get involved but not at any time did they try to outshine the main character’s story, after all they are an important part of the plot.

Our author has written a story that like a flower reveals itself slowly. But as things start to unfold you’ll forget everything else around you as you immerse yourself into the mystery and suspense that she has created. She’s also very good at creating evil characters. It made it very easy to hate him and what he felt he had to do.

There were times where things seemed to move in slow motion. It’s a great way to maybe understand a little of what Kelsey’s going through. Then there’s the point where things seem to move a little faster and that’s when we get to see things from Daryl’s perspective. We also get to see how well this group works as a team when it’s time to get things done.

Usually when a story is getting toward the end things start to wind down but in this case things seemed to ramp up. This was a train ride that I was not planning to get off of until the ride was finished. If you don’t read the author’s Special Acknowledgement you’ll miss her message on how this series started – my reading list just got a little longer. But I also have to keep my eye on my calendar because I don’t want to miss my next adventure with this team.

About the Author:

Lisa B. Kamps is a USA Today Bestselling Author who loves cheering loudly for her favorite hockey team, the Washington Capitals. She came about the fandom honestly as she lives in Maryland with her husband and two sons (who are mostly sorta-kinda out of the house), one very spoiled Border Collie, two cats with major attitude, several head of cattle, and entirely too many chickens to count.
While Lisa writes a lot of hockey - one such series, The Baltimore Banners, features "…hard-hitting, heart-melting hockey players…" [USA Today], on and off the ice - she also delves deep *ahem* into the heat with a series of hot and heroic firefighters who put more than their lives on the line in the Firehouse Fourteen series. She's recently introduced a whole new team of hot hockey players who play hard and love even harder in her Banners' spin-off series, The York Bombers. The Chesapeake Blades--a romance series featuring women's hockey--also recently launched with WINNING HARD. Her newest series, Cover Six Security, is launching now!
