Synopsis

Lust. Temptation. Deception.

Technology capitalist, Lars Elliott, lives on the edge, savoring the adventure of flirting with death. After rescuing a stranger from a hail of bullets, he resists attraction to the dangerous beauty. Determined to learn her secrets, he draws her into his seductive world of risk taking, pushing her sexual limits. As he unravels the mystery surrounding the lovely doctor, he questions the integrity of those close to him.

Caught in a web of lies, marine biologist, Dr. Braelynn Rollins never expected to face off with the tempting CEO who's haunted her dreams. Deep undercover, she's committed to revealing clandestine adversaries of the nation and recovering stolen research. Exposed, she's forced to trust the man who has the power to both destroy and save her. Within his arms, she surrenders control to Lars, submitting to desire, exploring forbidden cravings.

Lars and Braelynn heat up southern California as they discover who is friend and who is foe. Spiraling down a journey of lust and revenge, their carnal hunger escalates. As danger and corporate espionage surround them at every turn, Lars must decide if she is as innocent as she claims and if she is worth the rush.

Lars Elliott is a man who’s had to play Good Samaritan to a stranger.  This author grabs the reader’s attention right from this first scene.  Lars has questions that even we would also like answers to.  And the mystery seems to revolve around Braelynn “Brae” Rollins.  The intrigue starts when you realize she’s gotten in over her head.  Couple that with the heat these two put off when they’re together – thank goodness there’s no earthquake around because it would be off the charts.

At the beginning as Brae shows Lars more of herself, she shows the reader how vulnerable she is but she holds secrets close to her chest – she doesn’t disclose anything to us so we’ll just have to wait until she’s ready.  She also has a strength about her.  I found Seth to be an interesting friend to Lars especially when he yanks Lars’ chain.  The author also includes a little action into her storyline – imagine if you saw this as a movie or on television.  Ms. Grosso gives her readers a hot and happy ending but the Epilogue may give a hint to a next book.

Though this is the third book (even though listed as book two there is a Prequel) in the series it could stand on its own.  But I think you will find that once you’ve read this one that you will want to go back and see what else you have missed.  And if you like to listen to your books they are also available as audiobooks.  If this book comes out in audio it just may burn your iPod, or whatever listening device you have, out.  I look forward to seeing if it actually does.
