My Thoughts:
Emma Southerly lets
the reader know she has suffered a personal tragedy. Jameson “Jamie” West is a man of mystery when
they meet. What surprised me was that
this was considered a young adult read because I felt that it read more like a
New Adult. But then I’ve been reading
for a while so things have probably changed since I was that certain age. Knowing that it certainly didn’t affect my
enjoyment of this story.
When you think of
Las Vegas you think about “What stays in Vegas…” We don’t think that there are actually people
that live in the city of sin – it’s not just a vacation destination. There are gaps in what happens but that lets
your imagination fill in the blanks.
This story really takes off after Emma and Jamie meet. Ms. Lee does a great job in creating Jamie’s
sister and her minions – you will love to hate them.
Our author is very
clever because once I get to the end she’s left me no choice but to get the
second book because there’s a cliffhanger.
You may hate those but you have to admit that’s a great way to continue
a series. If you want to solve the
mystery, you have to continue reading so you know what the outcome is going to
be. And I want to see how our author
continues to develop her characters.
