My Thoughts:
Isla is doing something that’s out of the ordinary for her. She has a group of women who are more than friends. They seem more like sisters. Enrico seems to have lost something but by the end, you’ll come to understand he found so much more.
Besides Isla’s friends being secondary characters, there are two boys that are very important to Enrico. They are also heartthrob wannabes. They do a great job at lightening the mood and appear at just the right moment. The author does a great job in creating her villains. They never totally disappear and has me wondering if we’ll see one of them in the future.
This story has a little bit of everything. We have a female main character that knows how to hold her own, despite the age difference between her and her counterpart. We have a love that will build until you think your e-reader is going to overheat. There’s some suspense as good takes on evil. It’s like your best TV movie where you can’t look away and hate when a commercial interrupts your enjoyment.
Our author did a great job at making this a part of a series that you can start it with Isla and Enrico and not worry that you missed anything. I’ve already put book one in my library and that shows that it’s never too late to pick up a series, fall in love with the characters and discover a new author.
