Blurb:

Despite the prestige of his last name, Sawyer Taggart clawed his way to the top. As the illegitimate son the Taggarts can no longer ignore, he wants what's rightfully his--control of the security firm that's worth billions. But first, he has to take out the competition.

London Montgomery refuses to use her last name to get ahead. As the only girl in the trio of billionaire Montgomery siblings, she's a prime target for fortune hunters. To keep herself safe and please her family, she stays on the straight and narrow... until she meets Sawyer Taggart. No matter how many roadblocks she throws in his way, the darkly seductive businessman continues to ruthlessly pursue her.
Now London has to decide if she'll risk it all to be with Sawyer, or choose a man her family approves of...

My Thoughts:

London Montgomery starts us off with an interesting tete-e-tete that gets me curious as to what the author has in store for her readers.  Sawyer Taggart is a very determined man.  He’s good at teasing the reader because you just don’t know what he’s going to do.

Our secondary characters are family.  We get to see the camaraderie between the Montgomery siblings.  You don’t need to have read their stories first but they will make you curious as to what you may have missed.  Sawyer has a sibling that has started a rivalry.

The flow to this story was pretty good especially since it made me looking forward to what might happen next.  But questions do pop up.  You can tell that there’s something there between the Montgomery’s and the Taggart’s.  Why is there a feud?  Will it affect our couple?  Why do we always feel the need to impress the parents?  Why aren’t children good enough the way they are?  Can all this affect a relationship?  When will the author release the tension that’s building between the couple and us?

I’m all about getting answers to the questions that form but some may go unanswered – maybe I have to dig deeper.  That just makes me want to follow the series to see if I can get more answers or will they continue to form – and that just means more reading.  I think this would be a good beach read because you can put it down and not mind picking it up again.  Plus the story’s not overly long which is good for a summer read.

If I had to pick one point that I had an issue with was putting a name to each chapter.  This story isn’t told in the first person so I couldn’t figure out why the author felt the need to tell us whom the chapter was about.  I had no trouble figuring that out on my own.  But getting that happy ending more than made up for that.
