Synopsis:
Aspiring writer Kelli Dalton needs a man, and fast. When she’s rear-ended by a sexy-as-sin biker on the way to a Vegas romance readers convention, she sees her chance. If he’ll pose as her fake boyfriend long enough to impress a bestselling author, Kelli has a shot at saving the bookstore for underprivileged kids she runs back home.
Quinn Anderson doesn’t know what to make of the cute little writer who stirs his heart and his libido, but he does know he wants to get better acquainted. And if that means keeping up their sexy ruse all week, he’s game.Quinn knows girl like Kelli deserves someone with a secure future to help with her store, not a guy struggling to turn a profit on his chopper shop. But if his motorcycle designs win the big Vegas competition, he’ll have enough prize money to fund his dreams…and hers.
My Thoughts:
Kelli Dalton is trying to do two things at once but they are both
the things she loves. Quinn Anderson
isn’t having a good day. But then Kelli
has a proposition. It’s this proposition
that sets things in motion. She also
seems to have flipped a switch because she seems to have a way of letting Quinn
know what she wants.
I found this book having me wishing that I had experienced some of
the author/reader events that go on throughout the year. But there will always be those types of
events and what better reading material to take along then this book. If you like bad boys that aren’t quite all
bad then you’ll want to check out Quinn.
He also knows how to make a woman feel good.
This is a series where each book is written by a different
author. So you can decide which books
you’d like to read and you wouldn’t have to read them in order. And this book is a short read so you can get
it read in one to two days – depending on how much free time you have
available. In this particular book, our
author knows how to make us laugh. But
she also has a way of making the reader feel sympathetic. For me, Kelli has a friend that in a way gets
what she deserves because she isn’t one who knows how to give credit where
credit is due. If you have a day where
you just want to forget all the bad stuff that’s happened, I can’t think of a
better way to forget. The ending will
leave you with a smile on your face.
EXCERPT: NC-17
For the
first time in her life, Kellie was glad she wasn’t skinny, because Quinn
couldn’t seem to stop touching her, squeezing her, stroking her everywhere.
Except where she needed him most.
“Quinn, my
lady parts are feeling neglected,” she finally gasped. “Please, can we—”
He laughed
against her breast and raised his head, quirking a brow. “Your lady
parts?”
She shoved
at his shoulder, affronted. “You know what I mean. Please—”
He ran a
hand along the divide between her legs from her knees upward, stopping just
short of touching her there.
“You mean
your garden of delights?” He kissed her. “Your love shack?”
“Quinn…”
She parted her legs, in no mood for teasing, about to die of arousal.
“Your lotus
of love?”
She
laughed, and he finally touched her, slipping his fingers against her folds,
easing the throbbing by creating a new tension.
“I got
that from Her Shanghai Prince.
Do you prefer purple passion petals?”
he murmured against her lips, tracing his fingers around her, soothing and
arousing at the same time.
“Purple?”
she breathed. “That sounds dangerous.”
“I read
that in Love’s Greatest Heartache.”
He tilted his head at the nightstand, where a pile of classic historical
romances had landed.
He left
her mouth and kissed down the center of her chest.
“You read
a lot of romance?”
“Research,”
he said. “I took a couple home with me this morning.” Then he tongued her
stomach, trailing over her belly button, dropping kisses until he was poised
between her legs. “There’s purple, pink, rose, dusky rose, flushed red…”
“Quinn…”
Kellie could barely breathe, he was so hot and large, holding her thighs apart
and staring down at her body.
“But you?
You’re definitely hot pink,” he confirmed, grinning up at her. “And your pleasure
bud is calling my name.”
