My Thoughts:
Halle seems to want the impossible. Vance seems to have a big chip on his shoulder. This is not your simple medical romance where the doctor falls for his patient.
This author shows why I love to read. She has a way of creating some deep emotions while using the right words to create the perfect scene. We have a brooding doctor who lets the past keep him from moving forward. We have a young lady who just wants a chance at a new life. Then our author adds in some interesting secondary characters.
You will find that this book is one that is difficult to put down. Every chance I got, I had to read to see what these characters were going to do or say. There was one secondary character that seemed to like to stay in the background but by the end he became so much more. Vance’s brothers intrigued me, and they left me wanting to know if they would have a story of their own so all I can do is follow the author and see if my question gets an answer.
Having read this book has given me one more author to follow and to look forward to reading more of her work. She creates characters that seem so believable. Her scenes make sense and nothing seemed beyond belief. Our doctor was very pensive and self-loathing. Our ingenue was the character to lighten the mood, even though she had her own issues, and would even get us to chuckle. And I enjoy reading about characters that are less than perfect.
