What I love about anthologies is you get a lot of books or short stories while getting to know some authors you may never have read before. In this case you get a little extra. Proceeds from the sale of this book are going for a very worthy cause.
All stories are similar in that they are set around a very popular holiday. I didn’t feel that this anthology was one that could only be read at this time of year. If you’re looking for a quick read at a time when you might be a little stressed, why not pick up this book and choose one of the stories.
What was nice for me was that all these authors are ones that I’ve never read before. It was a pleasure to get to know them through the story that was created for our pleasure. There was one book that was part of a series. I did feel a little lost and made the decision that I need to read more of the series so that I can understand her main character. We get some paranormal, one story made me thirsty and wanting to make the main character’s drink of choice. One of the authors took an inanimate object and gave it life. There’s one story that’s sweet and the last book reminds me that during this season we need to take care of both our mind and body.
Originally I was going to say to start reading this book twelve days before Christmas and read one story per day. Since there are only eleven you can’t really do that. So you will need to decide to either read eleven days before Christmas or read one story twice to make it the true twelve days of Christmas. When things are tense and you need something to relax and to take your mind off everything going around you, why not pick up this anthology while supporting some authors at the same time.
