My Thoughts:
Emma “Steph” Stephens does a great job of pretending. She’s had quite a few years to perfect her
craft. She’s a very fascinating
character that grabbed my attention right from the start. First it was because I couldn’t figure her
out. Second it was because I wanted to
know where she planned to take the reader.
It was interesting to see how the author labeled her chapters – added to
the mystery. Hunter is a man who has met
his match.
If you’re looking for a book where you wonder who the characters
are and what are they hiding than this is a book to check out. I’m terrible at solving mysteries and that’s
one reason that this book held my attention.
Emma had so many layers to her – she wasn’t just a simple straightforward
woman. She can hold her own against any
man. But I got so frustrated because
even when I got to the end, I had to ask myself if I missed something. It’s as if the mystery is only partially
solved and there’s more to come. And
that’s part of the problem – is there more to come?
