Time served for a crime he didn't commit only provided many lessons learned. The domino effect of one person's crime going unpunished cuts deeply and leaves a mark that can never be covered.
He's no saint.
Jackson 'Rowdy' Presley did a dime, and he served his time silently. He could have brought down the real criminals, but instead he took the term and paid the price. Never have loyalty before the Devil's Due MC, he finally has the new beginning he desperately needs.
She's not afraid to call herself a sinner.
Peony Michele Forbes lives her life wherever the wind takes her. She walked away from her past to give herself a future with no restrictions. As much as she wants to forget who she it, others don't want to let her disappear so easily.
However, danger follows her everywhere she goes.
Will Jackson see beyond his jaded connection to Peony and find there is more to life than revenge? When backed to the wall, will Peony let herself trust Jackson to be the one to save her?
Love, hate, anger, and passion collide as the time comes, and the devil demands his due.
“...beautifully written and makes you anxious for the next book!” - Reckless Readers
“This story is absolutely stunning. The action and character build up is great.
The chemistry between the main characters is awe-inspiring” - Beth DeLoreto - Amazon Review
There are times when you read a
book where you can identify with one of the characters. In this case I can relate to Jackson’s idea
of living outside a big city. The air
smells different. The evenings can be
spectacular. Your surrounds are totally
different. In my case I grew up with a
farm at the end of my street. If you
asked any of my newer neighbors they wouldn’t even know it – shows how much my
town has changed in fifty years.
This is a great second chance at
love – very romantic. You’re probably
thinking that I’m crazy. There’s no way
that an MC read can be romantic. There
are certain things happening here that you know that Jackson belongs to an MC
but otherwise it’s not the important part of this story. This is about a tragedy that tears our main
characters apart but it’s also what brought them back together again – and how
is that not romantic. I loved that we
get to see the POV of both our characters.
This way we can tell exactly how the other one feels.
Forgiveness and letting go of the
past are also a part of what this story is about. The only thing that truly matters is the
present and the future. Loved the ending
because I found it to be happy but no way did I feel that there was a
definitive ending. Was waiting for it to
continue. If you go past that ending you
will see that the author gives her readers a very sad taste of an upcoming
book. But having seen him in this book
had me wanting to know that he’s able to get past that terrible point in his
life. I’m so glad that I had a chance to
read this book and find a new author to follow.
