About For Your Bite Only:

The best word for Jasmine Renard’s past year is a four-letter word. After years of concerts and increasing recognition, a rogue group of vampire hunters forced her into hiding. When the offer of a lifetime to perform again comes from the arrogant vampire she’s dreamed of shoving off a cliff, Jasmine might have to reconsider everything. Including, Luca Martens.

Luca has waited long enough to be onstage with Jasmine again. Their electrifying musical chemistry damn near blew his mind the last time they performed. To the point he mishandled what happened backstage after their last concert. He’d do anything to feel the spark again while playing, the one only she can ignite. But she hates him.

Excerpt:

Luca and she were alone in his room again, not that she remembered the path here. Her mind, muddled and fuzzy, couldn’t concentrate on anything other than him. And the fact his hand was still around hers. “You’re still holding my hand.”

“I am.” Did he have to be so freaking handsome, more so with strands of his long hair now loose from playing with such passion? Her hair was probably equally wild.

She stared at their connection, tears coming to her eyes. She didn’t even know what kind of tears. Overwhelmed, perhaps. Frustrated? Angry? Happy? All of it at once, it seemed.

“No, no. Please, don’t cry.” His Romani accent thickened, and his voice had grown hoarse. He wiped a few stray tears.

She flinched, but then let him continue.

He said softly, “It was too much at once. I’ve never performed with anyone where it’s like this. I was selfish and didn’t want it to end.”

The indignation over him pushing her to play her private song in public vanished. Oddly, him stealing a bit of the song for himself didn’t bother her. There was no one whose talent was more worthy.

He pressed his lips to her forehead and pulled her into his chest to wrap his arms around her shoulders. “I’m sorry. I wanted us to play together again ever since last time. I waited until I thought both of us could handle what happens onstage. But I failed. I wanted more tonight. Too much. My fault.”

She couldn’t muster a reply. Instead, she focused on getting the tears stopped.

“Thank you for being so brave out there. And for not letting me half-ass it like I can with everyone else.” He pressed his lips above each eye, her cheek, and then he lifted her face to look into her eyes. “You’re extraordinary.”

Who was this Luca? This wasn’t the rude jerk of the past few years.

He lifted her chin higher so when he bent down, her lips matched directly with his.

This was nothing like the first time, long ago. He seemed almost hesitant as he made a few passes of his lips across hers. She moved her hand up his chest to the back of his neck and pressed into him. Her lips parted, and he swiped inside her mouth. She felt the tension thrumming through him as he still held back as if terrified he’d scare her away.

Was this really happening? Was Luca Martens kissing her again, and was she going with it?

Yes, she was. He called her extraordinary and magical. He understood her and the music. No man had ever done that.

She gripped him tighter around his neck, not wanting the moment to end.

His lips drifted away from her mouth down her neck. His tongue teased the sensitive skin of her neck, and he nibbled. Only a small bite, but it lit her up, escalating her already rioting emptions into desperate need. She was convinced if he put his teeth into her and drank, she’d orgasm on the spot. She wanted it. Needed it to find some sort of relief after the past hour.

She’d never had sex with a vampire. Humans? Yes, a time or two out of curiosity, not that it went well, and it required mesmerizing the guys into forgetting all about her. It was taboo for any unmated female to sleep with a fellow vampire. Everything had to be sanctified and papers signed before it could happen. Oh, the horror if there was an accidental pregnancy. Highly unlikely it’d happen since they were such a low-reproducing species.

But right now, she’d willingly shed every stitch of clothes to get naked against this wall or anywhere in this room so long as Luca promised to release the passion he put into his music during sex.

The moment she was convinced he might actually bite her and take this to the next level, he stepped away and pulled her behind him. One of his bodyguards stuck his head in the door and nodded.
