Blurb:

He was my foster brother.
He swore to protect me.
He failed.
They all failed.

I’m an open box of passé photographs, snapped in chaste daylight, but filtered in sepia. I’m the past that he tried to forget, and he was the future I needed. When he left six years ago, I screamed for him every night. But then it all stopped. My screams were suddenly muffled by cruelty, and further coaxed by pain.

But he has come back. He’s not the cute big brother I had a furtive crush on, or the bad boy, rich brat that I hated to love.

He’s the ruthless vice president of Wolf Pack MC, and he doesn’t answer to Royce Kane anymore.

He answers to Sicko.

My Thoughts:

There is a warning included in the Author’s Note that you need to pay attention to.  These notes and warnings are important especially for those that may have certain triggers.

Jade gives the reader a little background into what part of her life was like when she was younger.  By the end of the book, you’ll realize how good she is at keeping secrets.  Royce had to make a tough decision.  By the end of the book, he shows that what we thought we knew may have been totally wrong.

This book was crazy – crazy good.  There were so many twists and turns, ups and downs.  It was like being either in a fun house or on a rollercoaster.  The thrills lasted from beginning to end.  This an MC story but at times it takes a backseat as the author lets Jade’s and Royce’s story shine through.  Nothing is given away until the author and her characters are ready.  There’s a saying “you can’t make this stuff up”.  Whoever said that probably never read a fictional story.  This author shows that you can make this stuff up and she does it in such a way that it sounds so real.

Depending on how sensitive you are, you might not want to read this in the dark.  It will cover some pretty dark subjects and you don’t want to get scared should something go “bump”.  It’s a riveting story from start to finish.  The author had me guessing the whole time – and that’s a good thing.  This is just one reason why I like reading her material.  And this book has to be my most favorite by far.  I can’t wait to see what other stuff she has up her sleeve.

About the Author:

Amo Jones is a USA Today & Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author, totally winging this author thing (she's probably doing it all wrong). She likes cake, loves wine, and her religion is magic (Slytherin). She's a profound work-a-holic, but when she's not writing, you can find her chilling with her kids & Husband at the nearest beach, with a cocktail in her hand.

New Zealand is not a state of Australia and rugby is the best sport ever played.
