Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book for review from BookSprouts and the author. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising".

My Thoughts:

Alexis’ heart hurts but it’s from a misunderstanding. You’ll get a real sense of the internal struggle she’s dealing with. She’s one of those characters that you want to sit down and have a frank discussion. Tanner is a great reminder that it’s the inside of a person that matters the most. He’s going to go after what his heart wants.

I like that the author chose to write this story in the first person. Their thoughts have a voice – it's almost like eavesdropping. She could have left it where we see a couple trying to work at a second chance and be happy. But, then she adds in something that will have you wondering “what the heck?” Of course, I’m terrible with mysteries and this author proved me right. Never saw that coming but that’s what makes her good at her job and me a reader. The author already has things figured out and I just have to follow wherever she takes me.

You’ll find that there’s a connection to one of our author’s other series so we may find our plates have gotten a little full – unless you’re up-to-date on all her books. I have to say that I’m kind of glad that I’m not because it just gives me more of her work to discover. I’ve already decided that I have to read this again but one thing I will do differently will be to play music in the background.
