Blurb:

"You’re my assistant."
The magic words every girl at Trinity Academy is dying to hear.
But I’m the one who gets stuck with Mason Chargill, the star of most women’s fantasies but my nightmare. One of the heirs to CRC Holdings, he might be dangerously gorgeous, but his cold and callous demeanor makes him an ice prince.
He expects me to abide by the Academy’s hierarchy, to be at his constant beck and call.
Yeah, right… hell will freeze over before that ever happens.
Unfortunately for him, I’m no pushover.
Unfortunately for me, he’s determined to break me.
If only there were a way to melt the shard of ice he calls a heart.

Please note:

This is Book 2 in The Trinity Academy Series.
All 3 books are interconnected, and some plots have been carried over from the 1st book and will be carried over to the final book in this series.

My Thoughts:

Mason Chargill seems to have a lot of anger built up inside. Kingsley Hunt is Layla’s friend. If you go “who?” then you’re in the wrong book, this is a series that should be read in order. They all go to the same college and it seems like a lot of their interactions/life shows what they may be like and how they grow.

Our author created a moment where the group is together and I just couldn’t help myself. I had to laugh out loud. It shows how good the author is at creating both serious and humorous moments. She also makes it very easy to picture the scenes. Sometimes they’re emotional, sometimes comical, and sometimes thought provoking.

You see three young men who are friends and really care about each other – brotherly love shines. But at times it seems that they fight for our attention but with Kingsley’s great comebacks it’s interesting to watch to see who’s going to come out on top. We get just enough of Falcon and Layla to see how far they’ve come since the last book. We get just enough of Lake that the author will have you wondering what the author has in store for him in the next book.

I have to say that I liked Mason’s story just a little more than Falcon’s. The tone of the book is so different from Falcon’s. This book is a little more lighthearted and that’s due in part to Kingsley’s personality. There’s a secondary character that keeps popping up and I have to wonder how things are going to end for her. When I finish the story it leaves me looking forward to the next book because the ending has made me very curious.

Excerpt:

“We need to talk.”
“Oh-kaaay,” she points to where her suite is. “You want to come in?”
I gesture for her to walk ahead.
When we walk into her suite, she goes to place the bag on the coffee table, while I shut the door. I take a couple of steps deeper into the room.
“I’ve been looking for you.”
She digs through the bag and pulls out a lollipop. “I went to the store. Needed to restock my candy stash. I was supposed to go last night, but yeah, you know what happened.”
Unwrapping the candy, she pops it in her mouth. “Want one,” she mumbles around it.
“You seriously don’t care what people think about you, do you?”
She shrugs and sitting down on the couch, she points to the other couch. Taking the candy from her mouth, she says, “Sit.”
Yeah, let's get this over and done with. I walk to the couch and sitting down, I rest my forearms on my knees and lock eyes with her.
“Are you going to tell the entire Academy we slept together?”
